Richard Gora

Rich Gora acts as Of Counsel to the Firm. Attorney Gora has represented clients in over 100 cases in federal and state courts throughout the country.

He has advised businesses and individuals in enforcement actions and investigations by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Financial Institute Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and state agencies, including the Connecticut Department of Banking.

Rich has and continues to litigate high profile business disputes, white-collar and securities fraud cases, as well as employment claims.

Business Litigation

  • Represented CEO in lawsuit related to $5.2 billion acquisition of public company by private equity firm
  • Advised Fortune 500 company on litigation issues stemming from a $4.5 billion merger
  • Defended portfolio manager against multi-million dollar fraud claims arising from an alleged $240 million Ponzi scheme
  • Defended Fortune 500 company and its D&Os in an $80 million securities fraud action stemming from a short-form merger
  • Represent Swiss investment bank in connection with an $80 million fraud claim
  • Defended distributor of electronic dog fences against multi-million dollar antitrust suit

  • Represented former CFO of Lehman Brothers in class action securities fraud litigation
  • Represented former employee of a public company in a $15 million SEC insider trading case
  • Represented former executive of Fortune 500 company  in an SEC insider trading investigation
  • Represented alleged transferees in $3.3 billion restitution action

Employment Litigation

  • Litigated CEO’s multi-million dollar employment contract dispute privately held utility company
  • Litigated pharmaceutical device manufacturer’s breach of non-competition claim against former employee
  • Defended energy trading firm against former employee’s $5 million wrongful discharge claim
  • Litigated fashion house’s injunctive relief claim against former employee for breach of non-competition agreement
